Kodak Box Brownie

Introduced in 1900. This camera sold so well that
it started the market of low-cost cameras.

Extensive advertising aimed at American boys and girls made Eastman's Brownie a runaway best seller. A simple paper and wood box camera which made six 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 -inch exposures on a roll of film, much of its success was due to its low price of a dollar and use of Palmer Cox's Brownie characters in its promotion.
