Rachmaninoff was born in Oneg in the government of Novgorod in 1873. He died in 1943 in Los Angeles.

He studied at the Moscow and the St. Petersburg Conservatories.

In 1901 he married his cousin Natalya Satina. In 1917 he moved to Stockholm and in 1918 he moved to New York.

Rachmaninoff gave his last concert on 17th February 1943.
