Wells Fargo's Internet "wanted posters" (http://wellsfargo.com/wanted/) extend public information from the walls of post offices to the larger body politic. People tune in, not with a sense of civic spirit but with a need to demonstrate their "otherness" from those pictured.
From disenfranchised to disembodied. Subtle allure through gesture and sharp dialogue has been replaced with the coarse cult of celebrity. People now can be noted for being known. The celebrated Angelyne is closer to computer-based 3D modeling in Toy Story than any approximation of a woman as a real person or "role model."
