The photographers that have come forth to this open call for photographs of local skate culture have all been published by journals of the industry. Their interest in skate culture dates back to the first photographs that they saw of the sport. Combining their childhood interests with the emerging talents of other skaters who often lived on their own blocks, they have sought to imitate the work of the professionals. Their photographs are a raw and energetic vision of the lifestyle that can be lived on any paved surface, hills preferred.
